Blowing Fuse.

My 02 T100 is cotinually blowing the fuse that controls the indicators and brake light.
I have checked all connections, swapped complete indicators, tailight, replaced flasher can and it still does it.
Seems to happen more frequently on rough roads suggesting there is a barred wire somewhere in the system.
Any ideas anyone?
This is a recent problem, bike has done 30000 ks and has been trouble free until recently.
Thanks.

I got a 07 speedmaster almost every time I turned on the right turn the fuse would blow not all the time but 95% of the time. Dealer found a bad wire in the harness itself and replaced the whole harness. Now he told me the bad spot was where the harness split to go to the tail light he found it by striping the bike down so you could see the harness and then just started moving the harness around. Good luck if my bike wasn't under warranty U could of spliced it back together.

This makes me cringe. I do this sort of work on cars. Yuck. But it did buy my Bonnie. When I am looking for this sort of problem I try to isolate it by disconnecting this or that & see if it still blows. But it has to be broke to fix it. But if you can ride it around without tail or brake lights then disconnect it from under the seat. Or disconnect the front turn signals inside the headlight bucket. Does it do it with the brake light? Or left turn? Right turn? Maybe when you are turning? I guess you know when it blows by the turn signals not working. No bigger than the harness is you could search the complete harness. I have to do that sometimes myself on cars. Pain but last resort. Good luck. Bob.

I would have to see the wiring digram but it has to be before the switches since they are not live until used. Either brake or turn signal switches. What I mean is the switches are off so it is in the power feed line somewhere going to the switches. That already eliminates 1/2 the circuits. Possibly in the handle bar switches. Of course possibly anywhere. You could put a circuit breaker in place of the fuse until you get it fixed. Use it for diagnosis. Easier than replacing so many fuses. It will either go away or get better. But needs to be found. Bob.

I had that EXACT same problem on my 05' Bonnie.......Everything was fine, but when I'd ride around, the same fuse would blow. I'd replaced the stock tail light with a Lucas styl light ans there was the smallest sliver of exposed wiring coming in contact with the metal fender. Taped it up and it fixed the problem.
