This post belongs in the 'twin talk' forum as that is where the newer Bonnevilles are discussed but I'll answer with my 2 cents. I ride a 2006 T-100 with nearly 7,000 miles on it and I havent noticed any chaffing on my side cases. I don't know if the chrome is just very durable of if the way the pegs, shifter, and brake pedal are set up keep my feet clear of the cases. I wear a size 10&1/2 shoe/boot and seem to have plenty of clearance. You might take a quick glance at your feet to see how much clearance you have while you're riding and adjust your foot placement if necessary. Practice that position until it becomes the natural feel. Sad to say but if you ride it, you're going to get blemishes. I've had to accept that as a part of the enjoyment I get from riding mine. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.
