Triumph America Windshield
New-be. My Triumph dealer wants $429 for a Triumph Windshield. I can get one for $154 from http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm...ategoryID=2639. I'm wondering if its the same windshield that Triumph sells, sure looks the same. Has anyone purchased a windshield from chrome world? Comments. Thanks. Ted

The Triumph Roadster screen is polycarbonate. You can get it for roughly $365 at MADSS w/ free shipping. I picked one up on eBay from a Calif. Honda/Triumph dealer for about $310 + $15 shipping.

Guess it's never to late to follow up, if only for someone who finds the thread in a search.
Anyone looking for an effective touring shield for a late model America/Speedmaster needs to look elsewhere. The Roadster is totally inadequate and creates buffeting that can't be fully remedied, even with large lowers. Do yourself a favor: Go to the Triumph dealer and buy all the hardware for the Roadster, including the straps, mounting struts, spacers, etc. Then order the large (20") GT shield from Clearview. I learned this the hard way, and wasted quite a bit of money in the process.

I am 6' tall and started out with the roadster screen from triumph and had the same issues. The screen is way too small. I, too, switched it out for the largest of the screens from Clearview and am in love with it. Better quality than the triumph, much better size, etc... Also a little thicker than the triumph and a better screen all the way around. But you must alread have the roadster hardware in order to use the Clearview screen. They are made as replacement screens with the assumption that you already have the hardware.

Thanks, they're a one-off creation. The headlights themselves came from J&P Cycles (I picked the style that matched the OEM headlight best):

The bracket was made from 1/4" aluminum by the machinest where I work. It attaches to the bottom of the triple tree using the same two bolts that hold the windshield struts.
The electrical is all DIY and includes a solid-state control module and two auto-type relays mounted under the tank.
This system really lights up the road.
