Renntek rack
Thinking about putting on a rack and top box, but am worried that the overhang will obscure the light/brake light. I'm a bit paranoid after being rear ended by a van a few weeks back:-(
The single seat/rack unit will certainly fix that problem, and it does look cool IMHO, but is expensive.
What's the thoughts here?
TIA

Yeah, but no topbox on it. There are a couple of pics posted here that got me thinking about this. With a topbox on the rack it is like a shelf over the light which will be fine when looking from a distance, but with a high vehicle close I worry they won't see the light.
I suppose fit one to the top box is the answer!

Yeah, I worry about the same thing. I'm at work right now but I have seen topboxes with brake lights intergrated into the them.

Yeah. my Givi has a reflector which can take a lighting kit.
What I did notice in a mag the other day, was a battery powered LED strip that you could stick anywhere (top box, helmet etc) which received a wireless signal from a replacement bulb. So when you apply the brake your crash helmet lights up! Cool eh? A must have I'd say:-)

Soft top not hard top
Barry, sorry, but any hard top case on a Triumph Bonnie just looks, well, awful. It completely ruins the lines of the bike that stem from the original Turner design, which as you probably know, just flow from the front to rear in a very pleasing fluid manner. OK, the modern Bonnevilles somewhat trash that with bulky engines and faux clutch housings, notto mention the dire exhausts, but most of the problems can be remedied with after market products that are stylish, functional and good looking. As is the case with the Rentec rack - a soft, expandable bag that can be removed in seconds, and has a convenient handle to boot. Dont go down the hard top route, most stuff can go in a soft bag, even if you are touring. Additional stuff can go in pannier bags. OK, you may not see the rear box thing, - but we can!

Barry, I put the Rentec rack on my Bonnie, I keep a roll bag on top,(Nelson Rigg CB250) it holds everything I need, nice soft look.

Rack
The Rennetec has been a god send since I got it! I thought it would be ugly , bulky etc..
None of the above!!The soft roll is a good way to go. Ijust use a crappy old duffle when I need it. Keep bungies on all the time taht will hold anything. Also have a cargo net in case of something thwe bungies wont handle. If ya are worried about being seen from behind- get the signal minder & use the running light provision taht comes with. Cant miss being seen then!! My new GF loves the rack/ rail. She can put her purse on it & the rail , makes her feel better about sliding off the back & something else to hold on to besides me. I couldnt concieve riding w/o it now!!
