valve clearances at 22000 miles

I know its been done a few times, however . .

2001 bonneville, motor and exhaust all stock and i drive "conservatively" but in all weathers, year round.
Did the valve check at 22 000 miles ;

exhaust valves ( spec 0.25 > 0.30 ) are ; 0.33 0.30 0.23 0.25
intake valves ( spec 0.15 > 0.20 ) are ; 0.23 0.25 0.23 0.23

On the understanding that valve clearances should reduce as the valve seats wear im thinking to leave them a bit. Maybe look at them again in 6 months time and see if that exhaust valve has tightened any further. Any thoughts or advice ?

Why not just adjust the valves to be in proper specification? And one exhaust valve is tight, so I encourage you to get them adjusted to proper specs, your bike will thank you for it...

+1. Just do it right and then you won't have to "look at them again in 6 months time and see if that exhaust valve has tightened any further". You will be good for another 12k miles.

I may have them done yet. These valves are off spec by 0.03mm and haven't been adjusted since leaving the factory. A search on here seemed to suggest if the bike is running well (and it is) then fine to run with the valves a tad loose.

loose wont hurt you other then them ticking but tight can hurt the valves .I would set the right and be done with it.

Thumbs up Valves

They are pretty good for that milage!! Runs good?? If it aint broke- dont fix it!! That aint broke. From now on they shouldnt get any tighter- just tickin. Wait for that or another 12000 mi & see where they are then. I aint touchin mine till they tell me to
