rear caliper piston seals?

Hi there,
was replacing my rear brake pads as they had worn right close to the metal. As I cleaned the pistons and then reset the new pads, noticed that there were no seals. In the bike bandit exploded diagram of the caliper there is a piston "set" that includes two sets of seals. I don't think I need a new piston "set" (for CAD$120) but just the two sets of seals. Anyone know what these seals OEM part #'s are or what replacements I could use? Can I ride without these? I didn't even notice the old ones when I took the old pads out. Maybe they were disintegrated
Please let me know if you've suggestions.
Thanks
Chris

I think you would had to have completely removed the pistons from the caliper to get to (see) the seals. They would not disintegrate or fall out when you removed the brake pads. Check the Triumph Manual for rear caliper reassembly instructions and this should become clear.

seal location

Thanks ohio,
first time doing the pad replacement and wanted to be sure that I had the seal if needed. Sonds as though the seals are on the inner side of the piston (this part I figured) and not also on the outer as a gasket (this part i did not figure - newbie).
Cheers,
Chris

Looks like Bob has you covered Chris. That's the great thing about this forum, it provides a means of getting good advice like that. Glad you are getting to grips with your bike - sounds like things are going well!

I overhauled the rear caliper on my 01 bonneville at 20 000miles - this involved polishing the pistons and replacing the fluid seal and dust seal for each piston (they were sticking). The seals were in very good condition despite riding through winter salt etc.
