TORS Question

IF I put TORS on my stock 08 black bonnie would I have to re-jet the carbs? The bike runs great now, I'm trying to keep it stock.

You should be able to get by without rejetting as long as you don't change the air filter or anything else.

In other words, putting UNI or other free-flow filers with TORs will require swapping main jets.

Bike will run GREAT...

I know it runs well now, but if you switch out the main jets for a few sizes bigger your bike will thank you. I don't know if the '08 comes with 110 or 115 mains, If they are 115's you may be fine

Here is a great site (http://http://www.dinqua.com/Triumph/carbs1.html

I didn't know anything about jetting carbs, but after reading this I had no problems doing it. My bike runs much better now. Also as others will tell you, get the stainless allen head replacement screws for your carbs...

I had the dealer put TORS on my 2008 last week when it was in for 500 mile servicing. They put larger jets in too and it runs great! It seems a little more responsive now and the sound when the throttle is cracked open is positively addictive.

I think 115 main jets come with the TORS from Triumph. I would definitely install them.

If you don't care if your bike runs lean then no, you don't have to rejet.

Have you adjusted your air screws? My 08 T100 ran much better with set up noted in my signature. Each bike of course is unique and will have its own ideal set up. There are hundreds of posts in this forum about rejetting. Check it out, adjust one thing at a time, ride your bike and see what helps. Slowly you will dial in your set up.

Re-jetting

I agree with Olderslower 100%, and remarkably, we are running a very similar set-up. I have Tor's and a K&N filter/Polaris bellmouth set-up with 118 jets. I believe it can be very intimidating to work on the carbs if you have little experience in doing stuff like this (like me!!). Well, if I can do it, so can anyone with the help of this forum, a Haynes manual, and some tools. Point to remember is that if you change the airflow in, or the exhaust pressure out, you should consider re-jetting. Order the stuff ahead of time....especially the Allen head replacement screws for the carbs, a manual, some jets, an adjustment tool for the pilots....and dig in to it. Open up the flow and listen to her go!!!!
