Renntek Rack + Corbin Gunfighter + NB Saddle bag racks

Good evening to everyone on the board -

Being that I'm facing yet another self-imposed exile from corporate America, I'm wanting to do some road trips (Bay Area to Portland and Bay Area to San Diego) on the Bonnie.

I see that people seem to like the Renntek luggage racks, but I wonder if they will work with my current configuration:

1) A Corbin Gunfighter Seat - and -
2) NewBonneville Saddlebag racks (the concern is that both the saddle bag racks and the rear rack mount at the shock post)

Thoughts? Are these mutually exclusive items? Or can they be used at the same time?

Thankx,

TBD

I can't answer your questions, but if you decide to get a Rentec I have one I'd like to sell. I tried to install it on the Scrambler and decided that I didn't want to modify it to make it fit. It is black. If you are interested, send me a PM.

Thumbs up Rack

If it will work- I give the Renetec an A+~! Thought Iwould hate it & it would be ugly? Its never been off the bike since new! It has been a blessing on ,many occassions! It isnt ugly either~! Check the pic in albums under Capt don. Cant live w/o it now & if it HAS to come off- 10 min tops! Oh its also the one featrured in NB. com (pic). They are great!! If it works- go for it!!

The Renntek will work but with a slight modification. I had the same set up on my Bonnie (do not have pictures as the bike is now in Bonnie heaven ) You will have to change the bracket under the Corbin seat which came with the saddle bag racks. When you hook up the rear of the saddlebag rack to the Renntek instead of the bolt that came with the saddlebag rack run a couple of plastic ties through the bolt holes and attach to the Renntek frame. This set up worked fine for me even held up fine during the crash. The shock bolt is long enough to accommodate both the Renntek rack and the saddlebag racks. It is tough explaining without pictures.

I'm using a Renntec rack with the Triumph rails, no problems. Seat is a thrux seat, not sure how a Smuggler will fit w/ the rack.

Where did you get a black one from? I only see chrome ones advertised, yet I'm sure I have seen one once.

Pitty you aren't in the UK. Sending across the Atlantic wouldn't make much sense:-(

TIA

Any of you guys tried the Hepco & Becker rack on the Scrambler? I've been using it for a few months and I like it. No modifications - fits pretty well and doesn't detract from the look of the bike too much...

Seamless Tank for Boneville/Scrambler

Has anyone come up with a seamless tank that fits the Bonneville or Srambler? A web site would be nice. I really want this changed. It's the only ugly thing on that new Bonnie.
