clutch/gearbox

i have a 06 speedmaster with 5000 miles on clock and lately the gear change has become noisier in most gears but what i'm worried about is when i let the clutch out to pull away, its like there is a click or small clunk before the clutch bites but it will engage and work apart from noise and slight delay, just wondered if anyone got any ideas as to why, any help appreciated, thanks

+1 on a loose chain or poor fitting cush drive rubber.

I'm new to motorcycling and my T100, and have been searching the board this morning with this very same concern. There's just a slight "clunk" while letting the clutch out into 1st at a stop. Doesn't happen every time, but often enough.

GJGUK - did adjusting the chain fix your problem?

Thanks!

Clunking Gearchange

HI, I was wondering about that also, I Have a 2007 speedmaster and mine clunks when put into first gear but I also noticed a bit of a clunk when changing in other gears recently even though my chain was properly adjusted, It has just come back from its first year service yesterday seems to be ok but am going to take it out for a good run over the weekend and see if it still sounds or feels rough,(is it supposed to be like that?) can anyone clarifiy?
