Rim Rust

The mighty Scram [ 06 ] registered 07,now slightly over 1 year old & covered 19000km . Last 2 sets of tyres fitted by a shop but this time I am doing the change & have discovered a cosiderable amount of rust on the inside of the rim in the spock well under the rubber doohickey, I have wire brushed & sprayed with a rust kill/primer as a remporary fix.
I will attempt to claim on warranty at 20km service, it is OK now but in 2/3 years time these rims will be US if this rust continues.
Is this a common problem ???? I could not find much in search [Bike is garaged]

Had my front wheel replaced under warranty due to extremely poor inner chrome. (It was one of Italian AMC? branded wheels. Formally Borrani I think).
Triumph NZ replaced it with a "Union" brand. (made in Thailand).
It is holding up much better.(I also do my own tyres), but the rear AMC is showing real bad rust an d in places it never took to the base nickle coat.
I've been taking pics of it, and hope they will also replace the rear.
Shoddy wheels for sure. Need to fit some Excel alloy rims when they finally become redundant.

Same , Same. Front is not good & rear is better but not far behind.
Suspect we will compare notes next weekend.

Same on mine - 20000km.
I think it is water getting in through the spokes and sitting there.

Lately I have started spraying WD40 on the lower spokes when I oil the chain, with the assumption it will seep in. Not sure if it will help.
