America 08 Cuts out
I have an 08 America with 900 miles and have had the bike cut out on me several times, most noticeably on the rough road entering the work site, after a couple of minutes it starts up and runs great, but embarrassing when the whole job site is passing a Brand new Triumph that stalled. I have thought that I ran it out of gas, but it has happened once with nearly a full tank. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Rough road sounds like you may have a loose connection, start at coil connections under tank, those are notorious for working loose (I used clamps on those), also check battery connections and make sure they are tight.

Electromagnetic field
this may sound kind of Science fiction, but I have identified a common link. while coming in the site I pass under the high voltage lines that feed the power grid for houston. I don't have any problem in the mornings or at lunch only at 5:30pm, consequently that is also when the power is peaking. this may be far fetched, but the it only happens in the same spot, at the same time of day - it happened again yesterday.

Are there any alien space ships there when you ride by?

Maybe try a different route and check but mostly to avoid growing a third eye.
I can't image that being the problem but you never know, Triumphs are already water sensitive why not electro weird.

I know how it sounds
Ya I know how it sounds. I have rebuilt several motors, automatic transmissions, and rewired pre-computer autos to accept modern powerplants, so I know how to turn a wrench, but in this case its the only pattern I see. I have a friend who said the some of the fly by wire Harley's are working through electrical issues simular.

There is a small wire attached under the bike behind the oil filter. It is prone to getting just a "bit" loose and when it does the bike will sometimes act like yours does. Mine did and the tech at the dealer showed me the location. This may help.

Would that wire be the neutral switch? If so, that shouldn't make it cut out. But an intermittent side stand switch would do it, or the side stand bouncing against the switch on the rough road.
If you have a center stand, try a tight cable tie on the side stand so it can't move and see if that stops the problem. If so, you can consider what to do about it; bypassing it is one option.

Thanks for the advice, I will check to ensure all connections are secure. As for the rough road we went to the Texas city dike this weekend which proved to be a rough ride and had no problems, but I will check the kickstand cutoff switch just to be sure. Regards

I'm not sure what that wire is but if you pull it and shift into gear the bike quits. Just like having the kickstand down.
