I’d still be concerned about whether or not they will fit. Do the new design tanks have the same curve as the old ones? I’m wondering why Triumph states that the cast tank badges are for 2007 and earlier year models.

The following was copied verbatim from the on-line Triumph brochure:

TANK BADGE EYEBROW
Fits 2007 and earlier model years
A9758044

TANK BADGE BONNEVILLE
Fits 2007 and earlier model years
A9758046

TANK BADGE CLASSIC
Fits 2007 and earlier model years
A9758043

TANK BADGE HERITAGE
Fits 2007 and earlier model years
A9758045

Well I hope it works! I've actually been trying to find a cheap 07 tank on ebay just so I could change the badges. This would make things MUCH easier. Lets see it!!

That news made my day! Thanx! Next Q...what method did you use to remove the stuck one factory badges? I'm WAY to picky to do anything that will leave a mark.

Get out the hair dryer and they should come right off. Might not want to do it on a full tank though Maybe wait till it's time to fill up!!

Badge

Doesnt the new plastic crap suck!! Some dental floss will help remove it. A replacement?
Dont know what the new PLASTIC options are? I got a metal one that I would like to replace w/a new style Decal one. I guess I am stuck w/ the old metal bolt on? It looks OK but I like the look of some of the decal ones I have seen here! Good luck!!

Hair dryer on heat with dental floss...check! Thanx! Gonna have to order some badges and see what I can accomplish. Hope to get my ped slicer done this week or next. Getting the badges I wanted would really make it all better. Would only have to wait 'til winter to fimish my desired look (all black) when I can take off the rims/hubs and not miss any riding time.

Okay, got the old badges of but not without a hassle and sore fingertips. I used a little dental floss and a little fishing line, got it under the edge of the old badge and sawed back a forth a little. They are on there really good. The floss and the fishing line help to get some of the stickum off, but the trick is to get your fingertips underneath and pry like hell. The badge is plastic but it is sturdy enough to withstand the pressure it takes to overcome the stickum and pull the badge off, but be careful and no jerking motions.

Once they are off, unless you are super lucky, you will frown, for before you will be big hunks of super sticky grey other-worldly foamy adhesive. This stuff could stick a space shuttle to your grandma. Get however much of this you can off by peeling/picking/rolling/kneeding/pushing/cursing. At this point, I used Goo-Off (http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/...resized200.jpg) on a rag (cotton and microfiber, both) to thoroughly soak the sticky and wipe it a little. After it has soaked in some, it will become more gooey and will succumb to the torturous forces of your iron fingers o' fury. Roll it around, pick it off, and once it is almost completely clean, use a clean portion of your rag soaked with a little Goof-Off to clean the area thoroughly and remove any last remnants of adhesive. Now don't get me wrong, this job is not impossible. But don't expect to get it done in less than an hour. Very good feeling once it's over though! And the tank looks killer badgeless by the way. Can't believe Triumph couldn't just use the screw holes in the tank and put a decent cast badge on it to begin with.

I took some pics and will post them as soon as I get home.

So, are the posts the same size for all badges or will it only work with the 68s?
