Anyone buy the burgess pipes from commando specialties?

I am seriously considering buying the burgess style aftermarket pipes from Commando specialties.

If you have put these pipes on your triumph could you tell me...
  1. How do they sound? (low and throaty or high pitched and tinny)
  2. How loud are they on a loudness scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the most quiet motorcycle you ever heard and 10 being the loudest motorcycle you ever heard)
  3. Were they easy to fit on?
  4. Do you like them enough that you would buy them again?

I haven't fitted them myself but that said the end cans are easy to fit and the burgess ones dont look radically different to any other in that respect. The web site has a sound sample and video to give you a feel for how they sound i think.

Good luck with your impending investment...

regards

CS pipes

I have fitted them and am well pleased with the deep sound which I would probably put at about a 7 on loudness. They were really simple to fit. The finish is good and the price is really right. I rejetted to 125/42's, this really woke the bike up from a deep sleep.
Oh yes I did fit a bellmouth and K&N filter. I do not think you can go wrong with the pipes if you like the sound and they also gave it a more retro look.

Cool Loud

I had a set of these and they are pretty well made and easy to fit. I changed them out because they were too loud for my taste and my neighborhood. If you want loud at a reasonable price, then these will work fine. You will need to rejet depending on your airbox situation etc.. I don't think you can tell from the sound clips how pipes sound. What is it about loud pipes make you drive faster?

Were they earplugs loud? You had neighbors complain?

How loud are they on a loudness scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the most quiet motorcycle you ever heard and 10 being the loudest motorcycle you ever heard)

What did you replace them with?

Jetting

Moe, I called Mike at Bellacorse and followed his recommendation for the jetting, I buy most of my stuff from and he is pretty sharp on these machines. I think these pipes are about the same as the Togas that he sells. By the way I have an 03 with the 795cc. and forgot to mention I fitted the Thrux needles. It has worked well for me, the plugs are a good cocoa color and it just pulls like a train and the pipes roar like an old dog especially on the over run. It just basically sounds like an old Trumpy.

Awesome! Thanks, Menzies.

I guess I'm comparing apples to the proverbial orange..
I'm gonna go with my first answer, (865 and all) and see how I feel...
I ordered 125's and 130's so I can always finagle (fin-ay-gull) {prolly my favorite expression}
I like the "sounding like an old trumpy", I think I was born in the wrong decade sometimes...
Oh yeah........ Rizzo, what other changes you looking to do?
i.e. air filter, snorkel, blah, blah, blah...
I'm doing this stuff next week so I'll report back with jetting pros and cons..(not dyno'ing just playing by ear)
and I'll do my best to answer your "out of 10" scale..(I have no basis of comparison so take it with the 'ol grain of salt)
t.l.

They're good pipes for the money . Better than Emgo but not as good as Hyde Togas . I know for sure they're not as loud as Predators. They're worth the $$$ they're asking .
