Got the Emgo shorty reverse cones from Speciality spares. Now got some miles on them, and found that I didn't quite like the sound of them. Too tinny, reminds me of a VW Bug.
Took'em off today, took off the endcaps and found that the sparse stock packing was blown loose from the core. Found some glass insuation in the cellar and wrapped the cores tightly and secured with bailing wire. Then pounded them back in place with a log of wood.
Did not fire it up today, as I also put on hi-temp sealant on the joints, letting it set overnight.
Looking forward to take it for a spin tomorrow to hear how it sounds with more packing.

I want to go wrapped headers with no exahust, am I insane? Has anyone run this setup yet? I could probably fab some baffles if need be but I just want to know what I'm getting into first.

What a big question - there are shedloads of aftermarkets and everyone will bang on about their particular choice. There is no right answer, best bet is to check out web sites with sound attachments or check around dealers to see whats on offer. For me I went for Mototwin Stainless megaphones. Look like Norton Commando pipes, stainless steel 10 year warranty and sound like a Brit bike should, lots of deep bass but not too loud. I want my pipes to last more than 18 months before rotting through [UK climate]. Some aftermarkets are poor quality chrome plated mild steel which will rot away first sign of rain. Go stainless steel for my opinion, costs more but lasts a lifetime.

Mufflers, Silencers, Pipes.......
After reading on this forum that the stock muffler sound was like a sewing machine, I opted for TORS (Triumph Off Road Silencers) right off the showroom floor, and was satisfied with that sound for about 6 months of ownership. They sounded a little better than stock but certainly not loud. After drooling over the Norman Hyde Classic Silencers (some call them TOGAS) I finally pulled the trigger on them. So my 2007 T-100 has had 3 sets of pipes (Silencers) and if the originals were rated at a 1 level, then the TORS would be a 4 or so, and the TOGAS a 7 or maybe an 8, but I haven't really heard any other pipes around here, since I have the only Bonneville around! You could say my scale is sorta based on deaf ears.

Arrows 2 into 1! It's docile with the DB killer in but sounds much better with it out. Supprising, it's not as loud as the Predator or Dominators. Sounds more like a Flat Tracker!! No problem with clearance either. Power delivery is much better and will bang the 8200 redline in every gear. I'm using a Procon Igniter, Nology Coil and wires, so mines alittle higher than stock. Lightens up the bike by about 15-18lbs.

Does anyone remember the 1-10 scale that someone provided for a whole range of pipes about six or seven months ago (I think it was Brent at NB)? It was a great starting point for choosing silencers. I've done a search for it on a couple of occasions and can't find it. Does anyone have the link?

I am running these on my 02 Bonneville with the NARK. Great sound 1-10: 4 at idle 7 at criuse. Ground clearance is close but if I watch what I'm doing, no problem. I dynoed the bike stock and with this set-up (NARK supplied jetting w/ .020 needle shim) and gained 6 hp. at peak and 13 ft lbs torque at 4700 rpm.
