Bodywork Damage

Disaster! After a mere 160miles I have now got a 1" long gouge into the front mudguard on the top in a prominent and painfull position (never let work colleagues go anywhere near your bike!)

any advice on repairing this mark it is quite deep, through the laquer into the white plastic underneath. Is there an easy fix that may be carried out?

Or should I see if at my 500mile service they can sort out the mark?

Im very new to the bike scene with the bonnie my first big bike and im not the most tech savvie..... ie clueless

Thanks in advance

Bummer. It sounds like it's way too deep for compound or something like that. Probably the absolute best fix is a re-spray. But - - you could trying "filling" it in with the correct touch-up paint applied in layers with a tiny artist's brush or a toothpick and then compounding it smooth. Follow that up with a good cleaner wax to the affected area and then a good carnauba wax with no cleaners in it. I've done stuff like that with fairly good results. If you try it, I'd recommend you do it yourself. You're likely the only one that will give it the time and care that it requires...

If its a deep scratch and no chance of buffing out, Try some black touch up paint(of course) but use a sewing pin or needle to apply.
Dab the "tip" of the needle in the paint and dab and drag the pin in the same direction as the scratch till its filled with paint. Then follow up with a soft sanding block with some super fine grit say.... 2000 then 4000 grit and sand it lightly to blend the new and old. Then buff the crap out of it. Hope that helps... worked many times !

Thumbs up Fender/ Mud guard

Your lucky to have the plaxstic ft fender!! If it was a metal one like I have- it would be toast!! Take it off -Sand &repaint . Problem solved! Hopefully nothing else was screwed up!
I dont like all the plastic on the new Bonne's- but in this case (ft fender)its a plus. Fix it & forget it!! Ride safe & enjoy!!
