That's good info.

Just as a point of clarification, Purolator and Wix are competing manufacturers.
Yep... my bad.

I do the use the Puraltor-- I get them at my local Advanced Auto Store. The also stock the Mobil v-twin and racing synthetic oils. The oil filter for the Honda is about a 1/2 inch taller than stock. There is a shorter version, but I just buy 3-4 of the slightly taller ones at a time and use them on the next vehicle that needs a filter (there are two Honda Elements in my garage).

I talked to a Kawasaki dealer in Minnesota and he says that Kawasaki suggest not using K&N filters on their bikes. I know not why.

I have to do my 500 maintenace this weekend, what is the model and brand you got?
I've never looked at Walmart for filters so I don''t know the brand they carry.

Arrow Some filters will not fit a Scrambler...

Scrambler Owners take note: If you run the Triumph bash plate, this filter will not clear the plate. That half inch is important on a Scrambler but, I guess not so much on the Bonnie.

I bought the M1-110 Mobil One filter and it is too tall. ugh!

...and my Walmart (even though it's supposed to be a super one) didn't have Triumph filters....hell they didn't even have motorcycle oil.

Same as the CRV (of which I own as well.)

Here's a link for a good buy on 6 Honda filters..

No Triumph branded stuff at my Walmart either - and only 1/2 the oil I needed. I don't mind paying a little more for my filter at my dealer. Rather support them than the Walmart corporation. Besdies, is the extra few bukcs worth it? nah, I'll take the drive to the dealer and be welcomed with a smile , not be just a number and maybe see a fellow rider there.

Yup...ended up doing just that. $13.95 @ filter. I picked up a couple. It's funny how on the Triumph Filter box it clearly says... " To be installed by a trained mechanic". I thought all Triumph owners are by very definition, mechanics.
