Thumbs up Triumph factory mapping - Sports upload

Hey Guys, I have a quick question regarding the Sports mapping upload for the Thruxton. With all the mods done such as the AI removal and Airbox removal and say a D&D 2 into 1 system with jets to match, would you still take it to your local Triumph dude and get them to upload the sports map? I mean they do it when you get TORS right? So would you do it along with all the other mods?

Cheers...

Im not sure about the mapping for the F.I. Twin but I know for the Triples there is several differant maps TOR1,TOR2, etc. Which one you use depends on how far you have gone with your mods.
The other option would be to buy a tune-boy or similar program which piggybacks the ECU and allows for infinite changes to the fueling.

Thanks amanger, I was thinking more of the carb models. The FI's don't get here till September from what I've been told by Triumph Melbourne. Just wondering if anybody has done it or not done it or whatever, you know. Just interested if its made the difference? Plugged the hole and ironed out any troubles between freeing up the air flow and correct jetting and so forth. Thanks for your post mate...

Cheers...

The sports mapping only works on injected bikes, it does the same job as re-jetting a carbed bike.ie adjusts the fuel/air ratio at differant throttle openings.
