Which Exhaust Should I put on my Bonneville?

Hey guys!

I just bought an 04 Bonneville. I love the bike but I do have one complaint. It's exhaust sounds like a mix between a 74 VW bug and George Jetsons flying car. I love the looks of it but hate the sound.

My question is this:What do you think the best sounding aftermarket exhaust is?

I want a deep low throaty sounding rumble that is a good bit louder than the stock pipes but not so loud that I need ear plugs to ride or so loud I tick off my neighbors every time I ride it.

Got any suggestions? Do any pipes you sell fit the bill?

Gotta do your homework.

Check out the sticky on exhaust. There are plenty of videos to watch and pics to see. Then you can make you're own decision. Check out NewBonneville or BellaCorse and see what they have to offer.

I'm going with these:

and a Dynojet at the end of this season.

Pipes

I have the same pipes as Moesyzlak, they are not for the timid. The price is right and good quality. Moe is right there are many choices. Do your homework and you will get a set to your liking. Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum.

I got the Norman Hyde Classic Silencers (commonly referred to as Togas). They have a nice throaty growl, and probably are most like the old Triumphs.

BTW, thanks to all who replied to my post earlier in the year, with questions about Togas.

I was recently at Laconia bike week, and most of the bikes there (vast majority were Harleys) made my pipes seem quiet, but I don't think any sounded better!

Can of worms....

Hello. As previously suggested, the sitcky's gonna be your best bet for comparison purposes (at least for sound and looks). There will be endless discussions on which cans add more power. You'll never really know for certain unless you have it DYNO'd before and after. BTW, this is a good time to drop the air box, the AI, and the EVLS as well as of course re-jetting and moving to pod's. It never ends...ever. FWIW, I went with the D&D's:

Let us know what you decide and then...SEND PIC's!!!!!

Cheers,

In my garage, we have:

Ducati 900 SS (2V) with Two Brothers Racing slip-ons
Harley Softail Deuce with V&H Pro-Pipe 2>1
Norton 850 Commando with 750-style Wassell peashooters
BMW R100RT with EPCO peashooters
Harley Nightster with stock exhaust (wife's ride #2)
and
2006 Bonneville with Predators and K&N pods (wife's ride #1)

Each and every one of these bikes sounds absolutely GREAT (okay, the Nightster could use a LITTLE more oooommppp). Much pre-buy research into exhausts for each of them.

But the Bonnie has the best sounding pipes of them all!

I highly recommend the Preds.

I've just got the Speciality Spares Reverse Cones, which I think is EMGO's..? (and which by the way look very similar to the D&D's posted by Kramocker)
Pretty loud, but not quite the sound I wanted with the sparse stock packing. Will try to repack them to mellow them down a bit.

Maybe T.O.R.'s

I just saved enough for the stayintunes and I like them alot. Pretty pricey though. I have a set of T.O.R.'s with 3000 miles on them for $200 + shipping for you or anyone else who might be interested. No rust, garage kept, and half the price of new.
