suspension upgrades first ride report
after transplanting the 675 front end on the bike and adding shorter ohlins rear shocks to get the rake/trail right. iv'e been waiting ages to get my f3 cush drive back from the machine shop to put the triumph bearings in and get it all assembled and out on the road.
that all now done i can tell you i have had a great first ride and am very happy with the results.the bike is so much more planted and responsive without bieng twitchy or overly quick.i have ridden very aggressivly in small twisting country roads. with lots of hard breaking and steep curves without any of the chattering from the rear that i used to get and diving from the front.the weight of the bike feels much more centralized when riding insted of moving around when braking/accelerating.
i do need now to raise my pegs as they do drag a bit on hard banking and with my new tank my steering damper wont fit so i need to modify the bracket.i totally recomend upgrading your brakes/suspension before you think about spending loads of cash on engine mods.if you have a bit of cash and you want to wake your bike up put yor money into suspension and brakes.
hope this is of some use, Al.
