Drag Bar clearance issues???

Hey I just put on a set of drag bars a few weeks ago and although they look completely *its, they seem to hit my tank on sharper turns. I forget sometimes and it triggers my horn or my starter. Anyone having this issue? Do I have to get a set of risers? It rides and feels great but I don't want to ruin my paint job...

I have an 08 Bonnie Black BTW...

I just installed a set on my 02 Bonnie and had to roll the bars up a little and move the controls in (not a problem because I was installing bar end mirrors anyway). I have approx. 1/4" clearance at the tank and the angle of the bars is hardly noticable.

Thanks for that. BTW. When moving your controls up did you have any issues with your brake line hitting the top of your fork?

I have a set off some HD (Dyna?) on my 06 T100. Had the same issues. Got 'em on OK, but no matter what, to have them look right and still work, the controls were going to hit my tank if I forgot to be carefull. Couldn't take the chance, so I took them off, but I loved the look and feel. Later put them back on and made some risers out of 1" OD aluminum, 1" high and they look great after 5 minutes of polishing. So, I guess I ended up with drag bars and a 1" rise. Oh well, I like the position alot. I did have to trim the small "tit" on the MC so the brake line fitting would swivel enough to clear the fork cap.
My bars are 28" wide with a 5" pullback if I remember right.
You may be able to get away with less rise, but in my case, not much, maybe 7/8" minimum rise.

I would suggest some taller risers.
