Photo of AI set up

hey guys, I was wondering if any of you have any pictures of your AI set ups Before and after removal. I have read a stack of posts and while its sounds way easy to do the removal I've yet to see any photos. Yep I'm new and the Truxton will be my first triumph. Thanks...

sorry no pics...

I did mine using the included instructions from NewBonneville.com. It took me about 30 minutes from opening the package to test ride.
T.L.

I got this from http://www.tribalaccessories.co.uk/

Here's some instructions...

1. Remove the tank (see Haynes manual 3:3) it's easy.
2. Pull the rubber pipes off the chrome tubes that go into the cylinder head. You may need to force the clamps open a bit first. They DO come off with a bit of a yank !
3. Remove the tubes from the cylinder heads one at a time, being very careful not to let anything/debris to fall into the head through the hole. Use a long reach plug spanner, or similar, for this.
4. After removing each tube, fit the stainless plug and copper washer (in the kit supplied) as you would a spark plug (Torque to 20Nm). NB! be careful not to cross, or overtighten/strip the thread.
5. Pull the rubber tube from the air filter box and fit the bigger plastic plug (in the kit supplied) in the vacated hole.
6. Pull the corrugated plastic pipe from the carb and fit the small rubber cap (in the kit supplied) over the vacated port.
7. Remove the valve assembly from the frame (re-fit the bolts.....you will be able to find them again then, if you ever want to reverse the whole job).
8. Re-fit the tank. NB! Be careful not to pinch the breather pipe !
Job done..! Any problems, just give us a call on +447803 851301 and we’ll try to help.

AI Removal

Just advice from Moe. One thing I did was to use some Permatex gasket sealer on the cap that goes on top of the airbox, FWIW. Good luck.

Thumbs up AI Setup...

Thanks again Menzies...I think I did come across this in an earlier posting, it may have been yours actually!!...saying that they have a habit of popping off and falling out. The Permatex is an excellent non hardening sealing compound with many uses. Thanks again, I'll be using that one for sure...

Cheers mate,...

FWIW:- Every piece of mechanical advice is worth its weight in oil!! especially when it comes from experience. Nothing beats teaching and learning and hands on. Even if you have someone looking over your shoulder, you can only try!!!

Bathroom sealer
Outdoor adhesive
