When I removed my airbox installed open mufflers I had alot of popping on decell also. Even with jetting and carbs set up. What finally got rid of it was when I removed my headers to have them ceramic coated I removed the cross over pipe and welded up the holes. She runs like a bat out of hades now.

how could I be running leaner? I haven't messed with the mixture screws or anything. I checked the exhaust and everything is still tight. I still have the AI installed though. Just too cheap to buy the removal kit at the moment. How will this help the popping/rattling?

Popping

Its theA/I I am sure!! Skip the kit & get 2 Nissan oil drain plugs & the necessary plastic cap from Ace or wherever? Troubles will be over. You can get the onfo here on the size drain plugs & all here in where all info is stored Wikopedis or whatever? I am totally comp illiterate so you can ask someone - they will give you all that info .
I got the drainpluge- cost $3-4 total for all needed.

I have an '05 Speedy w/ short TORs and no other mods. The local dealer told me that installing the AI removal kit would get rid of the backfiring on decel. I kind of like the backfiring though....a character thing.
