I am in NJ. I am wondering how far we can go modifying the exhaust and intake.airbox before it becomes a problem. Has anyone had issues with the noise or had to put the oem mufflers back on to pass? Or when you put the oems back on did it throw the jetting off to a point where it wouldnt pass emissions?

Mine is new so I wont have to deal with this for a while, but I am sure that I can do some damage between now and 2012 that would make difficult;ie:impossible to pass.

I'm not in NJ but I'm sure by 2012 anything that gives off emissions at all will be outlawed. . .along with anything fun and bad for you. . . Hope someone has your answers though

If you are concerned about passing a vehicle inspection in your state, I would recommend erring on the conservative side. Pipes like the Bubs or the D&Ds are loud by any standards and even the BellaCorse Teardrops on my bike might be considered excessive by some. However, the Triumph Off-Road Pipes have a mellow sound that would probably not even get noticed in Denver. They even come with jets...
