She runs much better!

It would not have thought that removing the vacuum hose 'mod' between right and left carb (instead of using the factory plugs), and reinstalling the original plugs would have improved my performance as much as it has. The bike now:
- idles better
- starts easier and keeps running
- and has a much snappier 'feel' when rolling on the throttle.

I'm not certain if any other bikes that have installed the vacuum hose 'mod' will benefit from going back to the stock configuration, but it has made my 2003 790cc really feel good.

What I cannot remember is whether I put the crossover tube on the bike before or after I rejetted and installed TORS, It is possible I did it with the stock silencers and jetting, in an effort to cure starting and idling problems .... don't remember, too long ago.

BTW - I don't think this is the 'placebo' effect.

Hope this isn't too confusing!

Bob

I took mine off, too. I haven't noticed much of a difference, however it did idle better with the hose in place.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Mine definitely idled better with the crossover hose when I had the airbox. I couldn't tell any difference once the throttle was opened past idle. Once the airbox was removed, I have had no need for the crossover hose. Solved all my low rpm problems and gave me a lot of new problems at high rpm (as in not acting my age anymore).
