First part to break??

Well, it finally happened. I was pushing my bike out the rear gate to hit the road for a ride. When I went over an uneven patio block, I heard something rattle,...almost jingle?? I put the bike on it's side stand in the alley and began to shake and bounce the bike in every way I could to track down the origin of the sound. It was coming from the fork / fender / headlamp area??

Then, just by a fluke, I seen something move behind the headlamp lens. There is a frame or bracket around the lamp that had broken free of the reflector and was rattling around inside the headlamp reflector. It has put two scratches about 4 ins. long, in the shape of a smile on the bottom of the reflector. Obviously this had broken free 2 or 3 rides earlier by the amount of scratches.

I took the lamp apart and removed the offending POS. It still works, both high and low,...except for the scratches.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Hey Jimi...I've read posts from two or three people who've had this...Cibie produce a good replacement lamp that is reportedly much better than the stock reflector at light dispensing...costs around £25 in the uk i think and i know there are u.s. suppliers...i can dig out the link if you need

Best regards
AK
