Bike Won't Start.
So I took the bike out for a ride today, probably about 2 hours, ran great, no problems whatsoever. I went to start it about 3 hours after the ride and it won't start (yes there is gas in it). I was looking around the carbs looking for a potential problem there when I noticed one of the electrical connections on the bottom of the left carb wasn't connected (the round on, not the flat one). So I reconnected thinking this would solve the problem but apparently not, the bike still won't start. I checked the spark plugs, the vacuum plugs, all the electrical connections and it seems to be fine. When I push the starter it makes the same noises it normally does when it starts, it just won't kick over. Anybody got any ideas? I'm stumped. and pissed. I really wanted to ride tomorrow......

If its turning over its not a faulty sidestand switch.
* try opening the drain plugs in the float bowls to ensure there is fuel.
* remove a plug reconect it to the lead and ground it on the cylinder head and press the starter to see if it has spark.
These two tests should narrow down your problem.
There have been lots of cases of faulty pick up coils on 06/07 Twins so this may be your problem.

Your post says it won't kick over - so are you hearing clicking when you press the starter button, or is the motor actually turning over?
If it's not turning over - have you checked the kill switch (catches MANY people out).
If it's just clicking, not turning over, check ground connections, battery connections and starter relay connections.

Step 1, IMHO: Determine if the spark plugs are firing.
I noticed you have relocated your ignition switch...might be worth a check to make sure the wires to the switch are OK and attached as they should be.

If its the kill switch or side stand switch you wont get any noises from the starter as the switches isolate the current to it.
I m not sure how BlackThrux can hear fuel getting to the carbs when he twists the throttle though ??

What does that mean, it won't kick over? You said it makes the same noises it normally does.
So, when you press the starter button, is the motor turning over but it won't fire, or is the motor NOT turning over?

I'm not getting spark. I checked both plugs, neither is firing. What do I do now?
