oops, help needed with airbox seal! torn gasket

I am an idiot....I tried the restrictor plate removal - and almost got away with it. I tore the original gasket during the process.

I had only some High temp silicone (left over from exhaust mod). I put the torn gasket back in and sealed the best i could.

Is this ok? I am thinking of nightmare scenarios where a little piece of the silicone would get sucked into the carb, etc.

I plan on just NARKing it now. Is it ok to ride until then?

Silicone...

Silicone is perfectly fine as a sealer... as long as it has time to cure before you start it up.

perfect

I sealed mine the same way, never a prob. hell I did it that way just to hold that silly gasket in place while I stuffed it back together, if you do this use the black rtv it is less noticeable than the copper I used which squeezed out here and there. (really looked amateurish), but

who cares I just ride the things, to stay out of the shrinks office.
