anyone ordered a heavy duty clutch kit from newbonneville? the clutch springs i got from them were to long and were totally compressed when tightened. just wandering if anyone else had this problem.

Yes I had the exact problem with the gold springs being to long.
My bike is a 2001, I can't say for sure if the gold springs will work in the later models.
But, they definitely don't work in the early models.
Barnett makes even heaver springs that are green and some that are very heave that are red.
The green and the red ones are the same length as the stock springs.
I had to get the green springs because the gold were exactly as you said.
when they were compressed there was no room for them to release the plates.
The 4 green springs make it a lot harder to pull but, they grab very well.

Here are some pic's
Note there is very little to no space between the coils in the gold ones

Here are the green ones. the pic is not that great but you can see some space between coils.

Here is a comparison of the gold, stock and the green springs.
Note the gold has more coils and are a bit longer then stock.
Note the green has less coils and are spaced a little more apart.
The gold springs will not work in the early models. I'm not sure when
they changed.

thanks. luckily the guy working on it hadd a grab bag of springs and we found some about the same weight as the barnett's but shorter. i contacted newbonneville and they were very helpful. now i have to contact barnett and tell them they are sending the wrong size springs to companies.
