Unhappy HELP! Race Tech Cartridge Emulators. S4101 or S3801?

I ordered Race Techs Cartridege Emulators part# S4101 (41mm) from my dealer. When I received them, I went back to the RT website to double-check the part and the Bonny was listed as S3801 (38mm) so I exchanged them.

When the 3801 emulators came in, I check the website again and guess what I found. RT is now calling for the S4101.

RT does not seem to be know what the Bonny requires and have not returned my e-mails or calls from my dealer.

Is there anyone that has done this insulation that can confirm the correct emulator?

I had them installed on my 02 T100 at my buddy's suspension shop. I can find out if nobody else gets back to you, but like you and I he's not open on Monday.

I ordered RT emulators for mine and received the s3801's. I have been attempting to return them but have received no reply from an email sent. Returning because found out that i'd have to drill more holes for increase oil flow in stock damping rods and that if i ordered the emulators from traxxion they come with replacement rods predrilled for the increase flow. the emulators from Traxxion ARE racetech emulators but are the 4101's - cuz that's the size that traxxion's dampening rods take.

Finally spoke to someone at racetech who reminded me of the 20% restock cost for the 3801's but who then told me that the "returns department" was off shooting a Racetech video and he'd leave my message with them.

Have not heard from them yet. Has anyone heard of a returns department producing videos?

I would also like to know what the correct part number is, as I consider ordering it soon.

Gentlemen, I believe that if you intend to keep your stock dampening rods then the FEGV S3801's are the right emulators but if you go with the traxxion rods then you must purchase the others.

I would refer you to uzidzit here on the rat. he has given me expert advice through pm's.

These links demonstrate 4801's with pics.

Based on these articles, I'm going to go with the 4101 emulators.

Now I have to figure out how to make the adapters. I want to use aluminum rather than pvc. Don't know if the pvc will survive the stress or if the pvc will give a good seal between the tube and emulator. I'm going to checkout some local machine shops to see if they can make a precision adapter to Race Tech specs.

I used the 3801's, and PVC adaptors and they work fine...

Traxxion, albeit a very fine company as they did some work on my old race bike, seems to get a a lil much for drilling 6 joles.... IMHO

I can drill 6 holes for 100 bucks....

FEGV S4101 will work fine. I've had them in my 05 for the past 2 1/2 yrs.

Checked with the shop that did my frt end, I have the 4101s. Some hole drilling to do but can't be too difficult 'cos they didn't charge me very much labour. The guy that owns the shop is a buddy of mine, rides a T100 and has them, also he is the suspension guy for a factory MX team so I am assuming he knows of what he speaks.

according to the instructions race tech provides - the type of tube that the triumph bonneville has is the shouldered type, which they say requires no adapter between it and the emulator.

I read the instructions somewhere here on the website, and that confused me a bit.... unless earlier models didn't have a shouldered type, but the flat one instead?

dunno.
