garage pump up

I know some of you guys have devices that will allow you air up your tires (tyres to the UK/OZ crowd) in the comfort of your ManSpace aka garage. I know there are small ones that are relatively inexpensive. I wonder what you guys and gals out there use. I'm tired of hitting the gas station ones at almost a buck a pop.

I use a regular old bike pump because I'm to lazy to use the "easy to use" electric one.

Scuba Tank

I use my Scuba tank to fill up. I usually come home with 1000 lbs in the tank, which is more than enough for the month. Until I go diving again. I bought a tire inflater that fits the buoyancy compensator vest hose. It is handy since I can go to 36 lb for 2 up, and then go go back to 33 for solo.

Small air compressors aren't very expensive, and they really have a lot of uses. I bought mine as a package deal with a brad nailer. I couldn't live without it.

Bicycle pump here. I've never used anything else.

I just use a bicycle pump for the motorcycle (which keep breaking, I'd pay big bucks for one that didn't).

However for the car I just recent bought this:

Craftsman 120 volt inflator

This thing is fantastic, it will fully inflate a flat car tire in a couple of minutes, it weighs almost nothing, it's quiet, and you don't have to wait for a compressor to fill up. Plus the gauge is actually pretty accurate (as long as it's turned off). If you don't have a compressor and don't plan on getting one for a while this thing is a great solution.

My 120v was purchased at Sears several years ago. Looks much like the one in Joe Swamp's post. The gage on mine isn't spot on, so I use a better pencil gage to check final pressure. But overall, it makes it really easy to keep tires at the proper pressure. Another benefit of doing it at home vs riding to the gas station ..... you're certain the tires are 'cold' when you check pressure. Mine also has an inflator that locks to the tire valve stem .... look, Ma, no hands!
