Help with a Renntec rack on '06 Bonnie T100

Has anyone had any problems installing one of those on their Bonnie? Jeezuschrist I thought I'd be done in 5 minutes but the top holes (for the under the seat bolts) don't seem to align on one side (bolts don't go in straight). I don't want to force anything and risk stripping the thread. So far I'm not impressed.
Thanks for any suggestion of feedback on this item, I'm getting ready to send the thing back.

Mine went on without any real problems, but I do remember having to bend it a bit to get them to line up. Is your rack bent slightly? If so you could try bending it a bit, or, if it is only off a slight bit can you drill out the hole on one side to get it on? This assumes it is the rack that is the problem and that your bike threads are in the right place. Might not be the rack.

I hope you get it on because is is a great rack and I really love mine.

Sorry for your troubles.

Thumbs up Rennetec

I love mine as well!! Took all of 5 min to put it on! Did 3 others & was the same. Maybe a Triumph issue?I havent seen 1 yet that didnt bolt rite on. "Stretching the holes shouldnt be a problem unless they are WAY off? If the rack is WAY off? Send it back & get a replacement. There are defects in anything you buy these days! Mine is the actual pic in NB, looks so much better than I thought it would & has held anything I put on it. Bud got the black one on his BB & it looks great as well. His wife now wants to ride w/ him feeling now as she cant fall of the back & the extra handhold. A little piece of A/C pipe insulating foam will give a little mini back rest feel as well. I built an extended up rail to take a full size back/ bar pac. Off & on in 60 sec. Sounds like you got a defect? Dont bugger it up if its THAT far off- return it & get another one. When all is well - you will love it!!

Had to file my holes out

I love my rack, but I did have to use a round file to slot some of the holes in the needed direction. You could also use a Dremel tool I guess.

Mine was pretty tough to get installed...I'm wondering if the heat from the welding of the rack warped it just a bit.

Finally got it on...

Thanks for the replies. I struggled with it some more but did not drill holes or bend anything. I guess I expected some kind of snap-in, which it definitely was not, but now that it's on, it should be all right.
