comments, suggestions, and any words of wisdom on Jets

I was looking into Jets for my future set is like so:

Airbox intack
NH Bellmouth
NH Togas
K&N
AI removed

After I did some reading Jenks guide, from this post: http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tech...-nh-togas.html, and some other one that i couldnt find...this is what i figured to get:

42 pilots, between a 115, 118, and 120 mains with 2.5 turns out on the mixture screws.

Jenks says 120 main, 40 pilot, 1 shim, and 2 3/4 turns

Someone also recommeded new Idel Mixture screws (http://www.newbonneville.com/html/id...re_screws.html)

I also read, the springs you get with the Dyno Jet kit are a better replacement than stock. So would getting the dyno jet be better off then buying individually?

Thanks.

You're roughly in the same territory as me. See below for what I have, note that it includes Thruxton needles (NBTZ), which your '07 probably has already. It runs well, although I don't know and don't care if it's optimal.

I bought a range of jets from 115 to 130 for experimentation, but it seems to be alright with the 120s that I tried first.

The NB idle mixture screws won't change anything but they make it a lot easier to adjust. Be careful for small parts when you remove the old ones: a washer, a spring, and maybe an o-ring. My o-rings apparently stayed inside when I installed them.

Hi Killian, I take it you're referring to your Bonnie here. When I had your setup I settled for 118 mains, 42 pilots, no shims and set the pilot mixture screws on each carb according to the highest revs at idle (see dinqua's guidance or search 'pilot screw adjustment'). My pilot screws came out at something like 1.5L and 2R using that method. I used the D-tool for adjusting the screws but have considered buying the idle mix screws from NB. Remember to balance your carbs afterwards (search Carbtune for an affordable tuning tool or 'manometer'). I checked my setup with a dyno run and it was fine (at sea level).

Each Bonneville varies and it doesn't seem possible to standardise jetting for a particular setup, but the 118-120 mains with 42 pilots should be about right. I think the 115 will leave you too lean unless your motorcycling up a mountain somewhere.

Good luck.
