Skewed Front Wheel

Just hit 500 miles on my 2007 T100 and was giving the bike a full nut and bolt check. What I noticed was the front wheel is not centered in the front forks. The wheel is actually skewed to the left side by 1/2". Does anyone know if this is in Triumph's spec? I can see it being off by 1/8" to a 1/4", not 1/2". Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Mike, consider this .... if the wheel wasn't located (on the axle) where it was supposed to be, the rotor wouldn't slide between the brake caliper/pads. My old R100GS gives the same impression ... that the wheel is off to one side of the forks. Not to worry.

Yes, you are correct, the hub is running centered. It is the rim that is skewed.

Thanks for the correction
Mike

I don't think my response helped you with your question. I'm going to attempt to use my electronic micrometer to determine where my rim is in relation to the fork legs. If I'm able to come up with any useful info, I'll post it.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks, I am going to the dealer tomorrow. I would like to talk to him then if it is an issue. I have built many wheels motorcycle and bicycle, the front rim is always centered in the forks. Not a hard thing to do.

Thanks again
Mike

it can be laced off-center...run the strings front to back either side and see what the track looks like...if the track is right. forget it.
