You need a thin wall socket. I just took a cheap deep well socket and turned it down on a bench grinder.

Question Plugs

Yeah you need a thin wall socket!! AND dont take out the plugs when the motor is hot!!
I took mine out @ 5000 mi & they were rite on!! Dont think they will need replacement till way past 12000 mi! Got AI still? May need more than a socket?

Brush a little anti-seize compound on the plug threads too when you replace them. Your aluminum cylinder head will love you for it.

Funny thing, I actually got a cheesy tool kit with my 07. There was a stamped plug socket with it. I went to change my stocks for iridiums and didn't have an 18mm plug socket or thin wall deep and the socket from the Triumph kit wouldn't fit (too small). So I go to my wifes 220 Kaw, quad and get her tool kit. Exact same kit with the same mfg. stamp on the tools. Her's had the 18 mm socket. I think Triumph doesn't even know what size there plugs are. Makes me think that Triumph and Kawasaki may be close bedfellows. Not a bad thing, exchanging technology could benefit all involved.

Triumph doesn't include tool kits for the twins. Whatever you got was added on by someone else.
