Thats why us young bucks ask you old timers, you've done it before and know what the heck you are talking about. I asked an old timer once on this matter and he told me the most important part is to make sure the wheel and the chain are parallel. The hash marks are more of a guide.

When you lay on that axle nut with your wrench, the wheel, spacers , etc. quickly snap into a flush situation so just make sure the chain side is set.

chain info

Thanks Gentlemen,
That pretty well answered my inquiry. I guess I was being a bit obsessive but with a 10k bike, I don't want to screw anything up and wasn't aware if there had been any changes to the old chain mystery.
Actually, the post from alcalift made the most sense and when I checked that measurement, it was equal so I must have done something right.
I appreciate the feedback, funny about the "old timers" though.....lol...

I'm right on the marks but.

Even with the wheel spinning freely. I have friction somewhere causing my rear disc to get very hot.
Any ideas?

If the disk gets hot-I'd figure you have a pad getting hung up. But if it's enough to heat the disk-how can you turn the wheel. Any more clues to help us?
