Replacement top clamp for Scrambler?

Does anyone know of a good replacement top clamp (or clamps) for the 7/8" handlebars on a Scrambler?

I want to drop the ugly (at least as far as I'm concerned) speedometer assembly for a mini speedo, but I pulled the original just for a "look-see" last night and the top clamp is not exactly a pretty sight without it!

Alternatively, I may try to find someone to fab up a flat plate/bracket for the gauge locally that would cover the existing "unsightly" top clamp. (I know the headlight clearance with the speedo cable can be an issue for the Scramblers but I'm changing the headlight out for a shallower unit anyway.)

You can use clamps from a Tiger, but you have to change upper, and lower clamps. It looks a lot cleaner.

Here's a link to a thread on the blogs that should answer most of your questions.

Cheers!

And, if you are really interested .......

If all goes right I should have mini-speedo brackets available, as I used on my retrofit in the blog, courtesy of D9 ......

Paul - nice work on the bracket, and props on the ingenuity with the wiring setup and rolling up the speedo. The thought of rigging something up with an electric drill came to mind but when I caught how long it took you to roll it forward I decided better. I'm likewise meticulous for detail, so it'll drive me nuts for a bit until I rig something up!

After reading your post and doing a bit of research, I ordered a set of S3 risers/top clamps. (for the "aluminum" finish)

I ordered up one of these for a bracket:

It's supposed to fit anything with risers 3.5" on center, and a quick ruler check confirms the scrambler is at least darn close. I can drill out/slot the holes a bit if needed to tweak the fit. If for some reason this doesn't work out I'll probably be giving you a shout!

I've also got a 7"/shallower chrome headlight (ala Lucas style) on the way with some Tommaselli style brackets.

Here's a couple of rather dimly lit "before" shots, if anyone is interested:

Anyone figured out where to move the fugly regulator?

Just a little over 3.5

The "exact" measurement is 3.543" or 90mm. If I remember correctly, Harley handlebar clamp bolts are 7/16" dia while the Triumph is 10mm. May not require any moding at all ....

I got them from ....

I got mine from http://www.newbonneville.com as a complete kit for front and back with the tailight included. But if you are interested in just the turn signals I believe http://www.bellacorse.com sells the exact same thing for a little less $$
