sticking throttle in open position - Mbars

I am currently experiencing a throttle that sticks in open position(unwanted cruise control) after bike sits in sun for a few hours, which then requires manual return of throttle to closed position. I have a Bonneville blk 07 with just recently installed Norman Hyde M bars and there seems to be no kinks in throttle cables. Throttle performs fine in morning(cooler temp), then I come out at lunch, after bike sits in sun and throttle sticks. Anyone have any suggestions or experience the same?

I had the same unwanted cruise control after I went down last year. The 50 mile ride home was an exercise in smooth riding as it was really hard to twist the throttle both on and off

Came home and loosened the end cap on the right bar end and it was ok!

So, I suspect it could be your right handlebar grip thats a little tight...

Adjust your throttle cables at the grip end to add more freeplay by turning the adjusters toward the grip side.

Just loosen the throttle control, and move it to where the throttle doesn't stick when you turn the bars. Easy fix.

grip

I agree with Ivar....I had the same problem when I changed bars and grips. The grip was sticking, not the cable.

I had the same problem on the GF's BB. We both have M bars, but hers would stick at certain positions of the throttle being open. Checked everything and even tried to WD40 - but found it was a thick spot in the powdercoating on the bar. Pulled the throttle assembly and hit the bar with some sandpaper til the run line was smooth. GF reports it's working like a charm.

I've had mine stick due to a misaligned bar end weight. Also tightened it a tad too tightly. Played with the bar end and things have been good since then.

Ivar, I slid the throttle body in a bit and that seems to have corrected the problem. We have only had one sunny sort of hot day since the problem, but all worked smoothly.
So hopefully it's all good. thanks.
