get the AI elim, with those straight pipes you'll be popping like crazy w/ the AI still intact.

I'd start with 150 mains, a shim on each needle, and 42 pilots, probably 2 turns out on the idle mix.

the pipes are too short to make good power over a usable RPM range. They might scream at high RPMs, but have no balls on the low-mid range. I've ridden mine w/ headers only and it ran like poop.

It's not a backpressure thing, it's a pipe length thing.

Get it out on the road i think you will find its dead till you get it up in the rpms.tuned pipes have steps in them to get the right back pressure to make them work through the rpm range.I bet it would run better with good after market mufflers then with staright pipes.

i did earlier, and i had no problems with low rpm range. the bike pulled hard all through the range. the only prob i had was the rice crispie sounds i had ( snap crackle n pop) but i will get a AI remover like sweatmachine said to. i ordered the exhaust wrap today in black. tonight i am going to oreder air pods and the AI remover.

Also today i installed LED rear turn signals that look great, they are quite small but do their job. now i just need to make some sort of bracket for the LED tail light. also going to make a plexi glasss front sprocket cover and some sort of rear mud guard when i remove the air box. and i want to get gauges that are half the size of the stock ones. and i am sure alot of other stuff as well.

Scavaging

As long as your satisified, that what counts, but I agree with Mike in that with just straight pipes you will lose part of the intake charge during valve overlap due to the lack of backpressure at low to mid rpm. Excessive scavaging, resulting in lower power output. Good aftermarket cans handle this situation.

Regardless, enjoy the journey.
