I meant, don't bother looking at air box or exhaust mods without firstly understanding roughly what you need to do with jetting.
The problem is that so many people have posted so many different things that if you read them all you will have even less of a clue.

They have a great guide.

Extra Motorcycle: yes, please
Make sure you sync your carbs after re-jetting.

They have a great guide.
I have read, reread and then read again most posts on jetting after adding aftermarket pipes and either airbox removel or just the iliminator and have deduced, the most common main jet installed is the 140, though some go as low as 125,the pilot 42, though some are using 40,s. the mixture screw is screwed out to a range from 2 turns to 2.75.
Please be aware that these are my uninformed deductions are only ment as a guide.
On another more general topic, why so much grief on rehashing a topic?
Just because it may have been discussed in the past by others why not welcome newcomers to air their 2 cents worth, it,s nearly censorship.
Often doing a search and reading the past posts just raises more questions.
If you don,t like what is being discussed, go for a ride, it,s not compulsary to participate.
If there is something on tv that you have seen before you can ,change channels, turn off the tv, or leave the room. Steve

To add a little, using other people's jetting is a rough guide at best. Each bike is different, locations (e.g. altitudes) are even more different. It's a bit short sighted to spend all the money and effort on pipes and open airbox and not spend the $50 - $100 to get an experienced tuner to setup and dyno your bike at your location.

Swedishfishdude - Just a heads up if you haven't worked on your carbs before. The most important thing is using the right tools! Make sure the screw driver head seats fully and snug into the jet's slot. (The entire slot.) This can be tested on the main jet easily. To test the pilot jet, which is seated deep in a well, test the driver head on the jet you will be installing. You don't want muck up your jets.

Also, definitely replace the carb screws with bolts. The stock screws are crap. Very soft.
