Bonnie Won't Go In Morning, Fine in Afternoon

My 2007 T100 will not start in the morning, but no problem firing up several hours later in the afternoon. Same starting drill. She cranks in the morning but will not fire up. Just had her in for 12 month check-up, no problems. Just turned 5K.

Any ideas?

vacuum leak? Lean jetting? What are the mods on the bike? What's the jetting? What work has recently been done?

What are the temps like there in the am/pm?

Weird.

Hi Sweat!

No mechanical mods; all stock setup. Temp this morning about 70, warms up to 80s in the afternoon. Dealer says nothing done to carbs when it was in for checkup last month.

Very weird.

Manual says above 25 celsius, pull out choke to first stop, below 25 celsius, pull out all the way. Tried both. No go. Afternoon, fires right up with partial choke.

probably something electrical, but I'm not sure what it would be.

Check the leads from the spark plugs and follow them up under the front of the tank to the HT coil. Any sign of condensation or damp here could be causing the problem. Give the lead ends a quick squirt with something like WD40 to get rid of the moisture. This should at least remove one of the potential causes from the list.

Thanks. I keep her covered with an all-weather cover under a carport and have wondered if this could harbor moisture that burns off by the afternoon. Will give your suggestion a try.

lets think about this starts in the afternoon only weird ? why would your electrics only work in the afternoon? I think it comes down to fuel your possibly flooding it in the morning to rich maybe, like when a bike is flooded with fuel and you leave it sit you can usually come back latter and fire it up. but haveing said that its quite possibly some other gremlin lets know when it sorted
ps haveing the thing covered should not be nessesary lots of these bikes are left in the open and start easily enough.

I would lean more towards it being some thing with the fuel/carbs.
These bikes are set up way to lean from the factory.
I found putting in the 42 pilots she started way better in the mornings.

Question No Start

I am in Fla too. I keep her in a garage tho. It sounds definate moisture!! The cover WILL trap moisture (plenty of that here in Fla)! Id spray down ALL the wires- connections w/ wd or elec spray. Lived in Boston & friend had an AH 3000. Wouldnt start the same way. Used to use a bic lighter & heat the coil wire & Vroom! The salt air here will kill a Bonne if you let it!! A pain- but not a real problem!! Spray it down & let all know!! Should take of the problem?
