Well, the Triumph "purists" should be happy. It's leakin' oil!
Actually, the buy it now price is not all that bad, when you consider two sets of fancy Exell wheels, with rotors, tyres etc.Plus the flatslides, and other likely engine mods.If it works as good as it looks,it would be a blast. I'm having a little trouble buying 382 lbs, though.
If someone could pick it up for say,$9500.00 or so....not too bad maybe. Definitely nothing else remotely like it. It'll be interesting to see what it actually goes for.
 :
Cheers!

The engine's an '02 790, with no mods stated, other than the 35mm flat-slides. So I'd be very doubtful of the 75hp (est).
I think it would have been better with a 270 Scram motor, & could've been serious competition for a GS Beemer-type adventure-tourer. But all of those of kind of bikes are too tall & top heavy for my liking. Including this one.

I like this bike, other than the headlights.

Idea's kind of cool -- I think the Bonnie engine would be great for an ADV bike. But I think I'd be inclined to start with a Scrambler or used Bonnie and trick it out with top-notch suspension, etc, and come in at a much lower price (and end up with a better-looking bike).

There are seemingly 3 main drawbacks.
Range
Weight
Suspension travel
For a mere $1450 (plus shipping, I would guess) you can get an approx. 6 gal. fuel tank from NH. That would give probably close to 200 miles per tank, depending on load. But there really isn't that much you can do about the other two without losing handling or capacity.
On the otherhand, I am a firm believer that it really isn't the bike that matters nearly as much as it is the rider. see the jimipatterson thread on going across the country..

You can see my signature that my goal is a more capable bike too. I've been watching and learning from others who've done it before me. It's certainly not easy like it would be for a Strom, or BMW GS, or a KLR.
I watched Orpheus pay pure hell over his Hyde gas tank. I don't think he'd recomend that route very much. I have no clue how long he waited for the thing, then it gave him lots of troubles once he had it.
I'm still up in the air about suspension choices. I'm gonna run longer shocks in the rear, but not sure on the front yet.
I'm waiting on Renntec engine crash bars. Also need to get a center stand and a skid plate too. And more aggressive tires. This sure ain't cheap. Shoulda got a Strom or a Scrambler to start with I think.
