Save A Petcock...Topic Lame Factor...90%

Or maybe even higher. I was going to start with a lame petcock joke, but I reckon most have heard em all before.

On with the lameness.

Was searching through the threads about the Pingel petcocks...and found some had replaced their stock units because of they were faulty and the Pingel is a good replacement over stock.

But thought, most of you like to fiddle...and maybe I'm stupid...but when I was just fiddling with my bike and had the tank off (again), I realized that I put the tank on my bench (on a sheet)...but let the weight rest on the petcock...guessing that cant be good over time (depending on how much ya fiddle)....so I used a block to rest it on the bolt bracket. Takes the weight off it, so no chance of any problems.

Now, the clever amongst you probably do that anyway. But me, I'm a little slow....Anywayz, just thought I'd mention it for what is worth. Err, yeah I bought the Pringel anyway......its bright & shiny...bonzo like shiny things.

Mine will leak, regardless. With the tank still on the bike and the switch in the off position, the fuel line removed, as slow drip will develope.

I believe that a bit of penicillin will clear that right up for you.

Cheers,
