Best of both Worlds - Thruxtonize the Bonnie
I really wanted a Thruxton, but a bad shoulder and the aggressive riding position said "you better get the Bonnie". Don't get me wrong I love my 2007 T100 Black & Opal.
Tonight I took off the Bella Corse Western Bars and installed Norman Hyde "M" bars (installed up and not down - I think Sweat rides with his installed down). I could not believe the difference in overall feel! Even with all the mods I've done this was by far the most gratifying - it has transformed the "soul" of my bike. It feels more aggressive in a point and shoot kind of way. Sort of feels like a thruxton with the classic lines of the Bonnie.
Someone posted a while back that if you really like you bike you will go through several sets of handlebars to get the look, position, attitude and ergos that are just right. They were right.

the M bars are great aren't they?
I did have mine upside down, but I now have clip ons (even lower!).
Enjoy the new sporty feel.

yeah I have mine in the high position just cranked down a little just leaning into the wind so comefortable and no wind pressure on the chest, definitely highly recomended, they were slightly buzzy compared to the stock bars but I made a set of bar end weights now there as smooth as.

Im considering the M-bars once I get the longer rear shocks, need more weight transferred to the front, still too wobbly on bumpy roads with the NH uk bars, despite being better than stock. I think some sort of semi-cafe racer would suit me, not quite the full on clipons top end cams etc cos im not a speed freak, but just enough to go round the corners on rails, and fire it out with pure grunt, whilst still looking like a bonnie, just need a bit more focus now I have another bike to satisfy my commuting needs, which recently had a set of renthal bars that replaced the BMX-style stock bars and transformed the stability around twisty & bumpy roads.
Dont think my elbows would take the full on long term arse in the air abuse considering they took a fair whack from my last accident, but ******it I just love wrestling my baby round corners!
Point and squirt means having fun is a dead cert!

Over the past 3 years my T100 has pretty much transformed into a chromed Thruxton. I have the low cafe bars, bar end mirrors, LSL rearsets, Triumph solo seat and Thruxton fenders.

How do M bars compare with superbars as far as height and fore and aft positions?

They look really good to me. My Black and Red T100 now sports Thruxton forks, 320mm floating thrux rotor, ceramic coated thrux head pipes, Thrux TORS, Red thrux front and rear fenders, Thrux headlight mount, thrux front turnsignal mount, Hyde M bars, Bar end mirror, Hyde rear-sets, Triumph solo seat, lucus tail light and bullet signals, and soon to come alloy thrux rims, can't decide if I want black or polished though. Ya'lls bikes look great!

Love my bars...
I still love these bars. Plus they are infinitely adjustable.

I've also added the rearsets, KYB's in the rear and Works Performance springs up front (plus myraid other mods). Let's see...what's left? Brakes, steering damper...lowering the front...let's face it...it never EVER ends! I love my Bonnie!
Cheers,
SK

Put Flanders Superbars on my T100 a couple of weeks back. What a difference!!!!!!!!! Lean, but not extreme. 60+ mph on the stock bars was a pain over time with so much body surface catching the wind. Now, I slice through the high winds like butter. Added a 19 tooth countersprocket at the same time. Tach and speedometer now point in the same direction as I fly along.
Only problem now is that even more people stop me to comment on this handsome holligan.
