you can go quick detach with givi brackets

this is off my strom but it works for the triumph as well, this was just before hardware paint. not a bonnie but the system works really well. i was to poor for pelicans, and had to use seahorse boxes, the bonus is they have locks, 9just enough th keep the honest honest though.

nice part is there is nothing to loose and they come off and on in about 10sec.

NOT taking over the thread just wanted to show an option in homemade luggage.
THERE is a bonnie in the first pic, it is under the plaid sheet in the garage. ha ha

This Is Perfect!!!!!

Man this is exactly what I've been looking for!!!! I've been considering the Triumph contemporary brief case looking bags because I commute on my bike too. I'm a Network administrator and carry a laptop, and network equip from time to time as well. This is absolutely ideal.

Okay I'm done hinting now. Can you do a draw-up of the brackets so I can steal ... er uh ... honor you by following suit? Do you have the part number you ordered from Pelican?

You sir have made my day!!!!!

Now if I could just figure out how mount those crutches (see my other posts for that story)

They are number 1500 Pelican cases.

Cheapest source on the interweb is "pelian cases 4 less".

I'll pull one of the cases off tomorrow and get bracket pics for ya'll. No welding needed. Just 4 pieces of steel and common hardware store bolts.

here's the 1430 top loaders and the 1300 (I think) as a top case

the 1400 also makes a good top case...a little bit bigger but not quite as high.
this is the 1400 as a side case with the 1300 for the top

Pelican started out making cases for scuba diver stuff I think...they have an O-ring seal and are waterproof...camera folks used them, then police and EMTs.
they say "break it and we'll give you a new one".

...they're nice.

Awesome thread. : Thanks for sharing this. I've been thinking about doing this for awhile now, good on you for getting it done. Completely utilitarian, but looks good too.

Do the 1500s have a lock built into the box?

I need to see those brackets.

I like the look of those pelican cases on the bike. Not fond of them opening sideways like that. Does pelican make top loading cases that are similiar in size?

See Modre's post, two or three before yours.

thanks Geo. I only noticed the bottom pic. Didn't see that modre had pics of two different cases on his bike. However, I still want a slimmer top loading case than what he has. I haven't been able to find one yet but it is nice to see the different combinations of hard cases people use tho.

The top loader pelican

i was really looking hard at those myself, they are the 1440. the only reason i did not go that way was they are over a foot wide outside but only about 7.5" wide inside. They just seem to waste a lot of space, the 1550 are more practicle, no there are no built in locks in the pelican line. those 1440s just do not hold much for their outside dims, they are also about 15lbs a piece

Beer and Pelican Case

One of my buddy's mounted a Pelican case on the back of his Tiger and it will hold 2 case of Beer and Ice for the days that you are riding and staying in the Dry County around Deals Gap.
Just another useless but funny piece of info I found.
