How did removing the wires that go back to the ECU affect the bike ?

I'm drawing up a single carb conversion but wondered how the carb sensors will affect the brain.

Thanks

The only difference I noticed was the massive power gain from the new carbs.

I remember someone once posting that they ran their bike on a dyno with stock carbs with and without the TPS hooked up. They got 1 less HP with the TPS disconnected. I am thinking thats within the acceptable variation you might expect from run to run so it didn't concern me.

As far as throttle response, the CV's by design lag. Open the butterfly which increases vaccum which lifts the slide. With the smooth bores when you twist the throttle the cable is actually lifting the slide. I am not finished tweaking the jets but as is the throttle response is freaking amazing. I just can't stop whacking the throttle open to feel the instant burst of power.

Plus you get to yank more wires! Less is more!

Hee.Hee yeah I noticed that massive power gain too.

Jeff have you tried installing the accelerator pumps on your carbs yet?
I just installed them last night then took it for a quick ride.
I took her to work this morning also, I not sure yet but I'm thinking they
do help a little with that slight bog when you whack it open.
I installed the #50 nozzles. I have to ride her a bit more to see if
they really do help.
When you look through the throat of the carbs you can see they give
a good squirt of gas at the needle. I have then set at 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.
I might change it to start at 3/8 to 1/2 and cut out at 3/4.
I still have to ride her some more to figure out what feels best.

Edit:
I'm sorry BorgCymru
I forgot to say I have not noticed any side effect from not having the TPS connected.

Bill

no, I haven't tried them. I worked 8am-10pm the last 2 days so there was no time/energy left for carb tweaking.

I want to change my needle position first, but after that I may give the pumps a try.

Nice concept on those carbs, but in the snowmobile world those guys have a less than stellar reputation...
According to some of my aquaintances, PSI = Pretty ****ty Investment

Interesting. They seem to be all the rage in the Harley oriented magazines.?? I personally always thought that the Lake injector was a cool carb for a bike, but I never did try one. When I thought I needed more oomph,I just bought a bigger,4 cylinder bike.
