Scrambler handlebar change: easy job?

I bought a Norman Hyde western bar for my Scrambler. According to NH no change of cables and wires is needed. It seems like an easy job to fit the western bar. Or do I overlook something?

Thumbs up Scrambler handlebar change

PIM, changing the bars is pretty easy. Use this link to view my tech blog writeup
http://www.triumphrat.net/blogs/triu...-scrambler-62/ It shouldn't take more than a couple of cold ones to complete the swap. Norton

Yeah, me too. I'm always looking for handlebar options. I know Norm Hyde makes western bars for the Bonnie, but I've never heard of 7/8" westerns. Info please.

I am sorry to inform that the Norman Hyde Western bars do not fit the Scrambler.

I went to my Triumph dealer with the handlebars and we discovered several mistakes. The holes on the left side are in the wrong position (unless you like a handlebar grip of 2" length) and on the right hand side are no holes at all. There are no holes (and threads) at the end of the bars to fit the end plugs. And last, in despite of what NH promised me: the standard cables became way to short.
Before I ordered the bars I specifically asked NH if I needed anything else to fit the bars. The answer was 'no, just the western bars, no longer cables and wires.'

All in all I had to pay my dealer two hours work: 1.5 hrs for fitting the Western Bars and 0.5 hrs to turn everything back to normal.

I will contact NH about these failures and will keep you guys updated...

I went through something similar in another thread. It's pretty easy to drill the necessary hole but the brake hose was going to be a lot of trouble. Look at my recent post in this thread to see some pictures.
