seeing as how you live in a town that's about 80ft above sea level, it probably needed to be more rich.

I have to set mine - stock setup - around 3.25 turns out, otherwise it's hard to start, runs lean. Raleigh is a whopping 300ft above sea level. Now, if I lived at a higher elevation, things would certainly be different.

Now It Won't Start At All

Went to get on the T100 this morning and it would not start; only cranked. Tried full choke, no choke and everything in-between. Had it in a month ago for the 12 month service and they may have adjusted the carbs as I told them it was stalling at low RPMs and hard-starting when warm as stated above.

Tried several times until the battery started to wear down but no luck. Any hints or help in getting her to fire up? Just turned over 5K on the clock.

================

Go back to who 'serviced it' and get your money refunded, then find somebody who knows what they're doing.

My Bonnie has always been pretty good starting up. I did have a problem when it was minus something outside and it did take a while to fire up then.

I'm with ACE. ride it enough to get new fuel in it.

Just an update. After having the T100 towed in to the dealer, of course the dealer could not duplicate the problem and she fired up every time for them. Even had them keep her overnight to try in the morning. No problem.

BUT they DID find a questionable electrical connection under the seat where they had installed the panniers and apparently the pannier harness was rubbing the connector, maybe shorting it out from time to time, causing the problem. They re-routed the wire over the harness and wanted to charge me $150 for the labor. I said how about the warranty. They said because the panniers were an accessory, it was only covered 30 days and I had THEM install them a year ago when the bike was new. I told them I didn't think it was right and talked with the service manager who offered to split the bill with me. I bit, but walked out a little sideways.

No problem since.

Glad to hear you got the problem resolved... we hope.

I'd be on the phone to USA Triumph in Atlanta about the warranty issue. Get your money back. These guys installed the panniers as you stated, so they are responsible for the alleged wiring fault. I would also be interested in what that particular connector was, and what it has to do with the starting performance. Have them explain it to you clearly, if they can.

Experience has taught me that when mechanics start acting like these guys have been, they're guessing... at your expense!
