Center Stand Bushes Inserted From Right Side?
Right or wrong I've 'sprung' for a Triumph Bonneville Center Stand. Am I correct in understanding that the bushes are both inserted from the right hand side of the bike i.e. larger diameter for both bushes on the right hand side? The instructions and diagram are as clear as mud -- in fact in contradiction.
My wife and I have done a complete body off the chassis restoration on a TR4A but are amazed as to how poorly these center stand instructions are written!

Yep
B.E.
I too found the instructions less than clear. I mounted both from the right side. Not sure if that is correct, but it did work perfectly.
Getting the spring mounted-- now that the fun part. Connect the spring BEFORE mounting the center stand. Good luck.

Job Done
Thanks truax
Mission accomplished although despite what everyone said about the spring, for some reason, I found it easier to fit it to the 'C' bracket and then heave that forward and slip it onto that tiny little peg above the stand mounting bolts.
Now I just have to work on my weight lifting and confidence to get the bike on and off the center stand without my wife in attendance in case I drop it

There's a good spot to hold right under the seat towards the back of the side cover. I believe it forms a triangle.
Standing on the left side of the bike and holding the handlebars (make sure the handlebars are straight), have the bike in neutral and you have some really good boots, it's hard to do with soft soled shoes like sneakers.
Instead of lifting the bike, think of pushing down the slight piece that sticks out of the centerstand into the ground while slightly lifting the bike.
It's all in your legs and timing.
Here's a video to help.

I found if I concentrate more on stepping down on the lever, rather than lifting, it is a lot easier. Give it a try.

Thanks
Truax--After an intensive three days of wheaties therapy I tried your technique of installing the centerstand and it popped right nto place. For that I owe you a beverage of your choice when we cross on the trail!
All the best,
G1

JKDJose and truax
Thanks for the recommendations on getting the bike onto the center stand. It's much easier now
