i bought some emgo "classic" bars, as by spec, they seem like they"ll work fine, i havent had the chance to put them on, but i hope to this week.

well, my bar saga goes like this.......

emgo classics, too high, a bit too much pullback, cut em too narrow. 25 bucks NABD

renthal 794 (yamaha yfz 450) too low, didnt even install them, just rested em in the trees, realized they were too far away/low, 80 bucks, returned em

fly racing steel atv bars, picked em up when i returned the renthal bars. for 18.99 i figured what the hell, maybe they'll be good....... theyre PERFECT. bam

3 pairs of bars, one day. done

I've tried loads of different bars on my latest Bonnie build & have decided to go with the 1" Harley Sportster 48 bars. The feel perfect & have the look I'm after. I've installed all the switch wires internally too to tidy things up. Humdinger.

Just about everything as I just started with a mint 06 carb motor which is going to receive loads of tuning work. This is my 90th bike build since 1969 & my 14th Bonnie, first Hinkley Bonnie though. I wanted to build my ideal Bonnie. I started with making a stronger main frame from 2" 10swg CDS tubing & de raking it 2 degrees. I've used the rear part of a Bonnie frame & lower rails. I've extended the swingarm by 2" & also widened it . Front & rear shocks are Ohlins, I've also made my own Hurricane style tank unit which is 4" wider at the front & 2" wider at the back to take more gas & also it looks so much nicer. I've made an alloy gas tank that fits inside this molding & am about to carbon sheath it for looks. I'm using all new floating discs throughout with twin 4 pots on the front. These will be very useful as I am planning on a hopping the motor up with ether 998 or 1100 cylinders, high comp pistons with porting, larger valves, cams & carbs to hopefully raise the output to the 80 + hp & 70 + ft lbs. At my age I probably wont be making many more bikes so I need to have a few of my favorites to keep & blat around on. My other 2 being a nice Twin cam HD I built in 2001 that I've covered thousands of miles on touring around the UK. Its got 6" over wide glides, my own softail frame, a well tuned 103 cu. motor that goes like stink & is superbly cumfy to ride & handles well. My other being a stock'ish GSX1400 for rain & snow or just scaring the crap out of my self on a sunny day.

Forgot to order bar end weights,so the last pic is an idea I found in a post here, a piece of rubber hose sandwiched between cap and a washer,and a dab of melting glue on the nut to keep it from rotating.
With longer bolts, one could put on more washers etc to get more weight.

LSL Sport Touring are the type of bar I'm thinking of getting

but I dont understand the bar end weights. what are they for?

Just got my black NH M Bars today, and slapped em right on with some new Napoleon bar end mirrors -

I love the bars! Kinda glad I didn't go with the Hyde Ace bars that I originally had decided upon - I think those would've been too drastic, and most likely would've hit the tank too -
