Rode a T-100 today, have a question
Rode my first New bonnie today an 06, bike handled great was really smooth, plenty of power and had that classic brit bike sound...sweet! Brought back all the fond memories of my past Triumphs and Nortons.
The question i have is it made a high pitched whine under power, kinda like a gear or something, it was not chain noise. It did this in all gears at all speeds Is this normal or just this bike? I rode an America a year ago and dont remember that sound. Other than the whine i really like the bike. Do all bonnevilles do this?

My '07 T100 has the whine. I've noticed it a lot lately. I am not sure exactly where it is coming from but I'm not too concerned about it.

Put TOR's on it. They sound very tight and quiet stock.

I have TORs on my T100. I can hear the whine more than I can hear the TORs. I suspect that it might the speedo cable, even though I lubed it a couple of months ago.

When I first got my new 07 T100 I imagined all sorts of 'noises' As others on the Forum pointed out at the time, all air cooled engines seem noisy. Also Stock Bonnies do tend to do impressions of sewing machines

The sound was coming from the engine or tranny not the speedo. This bike had BUB mufflers so it was not quiet and the whine was very noticeable. Some bikes or engines make there own noises and whines others dont, this just did not seem normal....maybe it is for this engine? I am just wanting to know if this is standard issue noise for these engines. If it is OK. It appears at least one other 07 is making the same noise. I have never been one to ignore a strange noise in the hope it goes away or assume its not a problem waiting to happen.
Being how this is the first one i have ridden, i no nothing of the quirks or sounds this engine/tranny combo makes.
